Over the past 4 years, I have successfully tutored students in 11+, 13+, 16+ entrance exams for competitive UK independent and grammar school admissions. As a result, students I have tutored have gained entry to / are currently studying in some of the best schools in the UK such as King's School Wimbledon, St Paul's, Dulwich College, Oundle, Abingdon, Wycombe Abbey etc.
My tutoring expertise comprises CAT4 & ISEB pre-test in Maths, English Verbal, Non-verbal, Spatial and Quantitative reasonings, as well as Common Entrance Exams in Maths and English. I am also highly experienced in preparing students for 1-2-1 interviews and group activities to help students show off their best selves and to create a good first impression.
I boast a 100% success rate for all my GCSE students achieving at least Grade 6 or higher and a 97% success rate for all my A-level students achieving at least Grade B or higher. As an example, I once helped a bright student who often made careless mistakes in Maths that resulted in an average score in his mock exam. After an intensive 6 months tutoring exam technique, he was able to look out for his common mistakes and rectified them in time for the IGCSE exams. He went on to score Grade 9 in the exam and studied Maths for his A-levels. Another similar example in A-level where a student suffered from anxiety and depression and struggled to translate her abilities into high performance in tests. Through making the tutoring session fun, interactive and breaking large problems down into more manageable chunks, she became more comfortable in answering questions and accomplished Grade A in her A-level Economics exam.
