Once I had achieved my BSc in Psychology, with a research placement year at the Institute of Psychiatry, I began my teaching journey at North Bridge House Prep School. Starting as a Learning Support Assistant, I was offered the opportunity to tutor students from the school. Delivering one-to-one support was incredibly rewarding as it allowed me to dedicate my full attention and expertise to a single student for an entire session. This level of focused support yielded immediate and tangible results, with each passing minute contributing to the growth of my students' confidence and attainment.

Progressing to the role of internal Cover Teacher for Years 3 to 8, aligned with my pursuit of Specific Learning Difficulties Training. This was inspired by my first encounter with a student with Dyslexia. Her adaptability, enthusiasm and unique perspective on the world, profoundly inspired me. Additionally, my niece, with Global Developmental Delay and the rare Phelan-McDermid Syndrome, has further shaped my journey. Despite her cognitive diversity and social challenges resembling autism, she has exceeded all expectations. I am grateful for the positive influence these experiences have had on me, facilitating awareness, inspiration and compelling me to facilitate success in all students, irrespective of challenges, paving the way for their journey towards a bright future.

Upon qualification, I transitioned into the role of Learning Support Teacher. Subsequently, I completed my teacher training, attaining Qualified Teacher Status and a Postgraduate degree in Education. Throughout my career, I have taught at six schools and coached successful outcomes in all of my students as a tutor since 2016, specialising in English, Maths, SEND, Dyslexia & SpLD and preparation for 4+, 7+, and 11+ assessments.

As a compassionate and creative educator, I employ an innovative and organised tutoring approach, both online or in-person, with a dedicated commitment to inclusively assisting all students in reaching their full potential. My communication style is characterised by kindness and empathy, enabling me to respond to students in a relatable manner and adapt to their individual challenges with sensitivity and systematic support.

In my teaching I practice many evidence-based pedagogical approaches including Maths Mastery, Phonics, Talk 4 Writing, Reciprocal Reading, Zones of Regulation and more, always facilitating metacognition through good questioning using Bloom’s Taxonomy as a framework.

In preparing students for the school entrance exams, my approach encompasses a comprehensive curriculum tailored to key subjects, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving. Through engaging materials and interactive activities, I ensure a dynamic learning experience, coupled with regular assessments for individualised progress tracking. Emphasising exam-specific skills, time management, and familiarity with the exam process, I equip students not only with knowledge but also the strategies needed for success. Additionally, I can integrate interview preparation to instil confidence, ensuring students approach interviews positively, competently, and thus, shine brightly in a group.

Every student possesses the potential for greatness and I am committed to supporting them in surpassing expectations. I am proud of the impact I have on my students as they embark on the enlightening and empowering journey of mastering their education, setting the stage for successful futures.

I am passionate about various performing arts disciplines, such as dance, aerial circus, gymnastics, and drama. My physical pursuits have extended to diverse activities, including climbing, parkour, contortion, flying trapeze, and Capoeira. Fun Fact: I performed dance in the London 2012 Olympic closing ceremonies! In addition to my enthusiasm for performing arts, I find joy in creative expressions like painting, illustration, design and crafting of knitwear garments - especially at Christmas time. Lastly, I love to travel and hope to be able to say ''I have seen the whole world'' one day!
