Course description
This course will aim to cover as much of the Edexcel syllabus as possible over the Easter holidays. Each 2-hour session will involve an in-depth discussion about the topics of the day, followed by the chance to test yourself with relevant past-paper questions.
Day 1: Organic Chemistry
We'll take an in-depth look at reaction mechanisms, as well covering a critical new way of approaching nitrogen compounds, making them much easier to learn.
Day 2: Kinetics
We'll take a deep dive into rates of reactions, orders of reaction, and the Arrhenius equation.
Day 3: Equilibrium
Kc, Kp, Kw, Ka. We'll go over the purpose of these equilibrium constants, as well as overviewing the calculations involved.
Day 4: Energetics
We'll cover an easier way to solve Hess cycles and Born-Haber cycles. They're much simpler than you think!
Detailed feedback: An end of course report is sent on completion detailing the student’s achievements and areas for further work.
