Biography

After completing my MA in US Government and Politics I progressed onto a PGCE at the Institute of Education, University of London. I taught at the University of Westminster on the final year of the BA Business Studies before taking up the post as Senior Lecturer in Business at a London College. I was appointed Head of School of Business in 1997 and, subsequently, in 2004, as Director of Curriculum for Academic and Vocational Studies at one of the largest colleges in the UK. Over time I have taught on a range of courses from GCSE up to Undergraduate level as well as fulfilling a number of roles with Pearson, the examination body.

Approach to Tutoring

I am very passionate about Business Studies. I am able to encourage, motivate and to instil a love of learning in my students. I am very aware of the requirements of the different examining bodies, how the curriculum is best organised and what students need to do to maximise their grades through applying the appropriate techniques. I also understand how to support and engage students with a wide range of different needs and abilities and how to adapt tutoring to cater for each individual. My aim throughout is for students to be confident learners in a supportive environment, helping them achieve their goals.

When not tutoring

Cycling around London on my bike, watching live football and following cricket at Lords. Keeping an open mind to new ideas and experiences, critical at all ages.
