I started teaching Italian for COASIT (Comitato Assistenza Scuole Italiane) in several after school clubs, preparing students from beginners to GCSE, to A Level until the early 2000. I returned to teaching, in 2009. At that time, I was teaching for a private school of languages in Marlow. Here I taught a wide variety of courses, from GCSE, to A Level, to Business Italian, to Ab Initio and conversational Italian for travelling and tourism purposes. Again, at the same time, I taught for COASIT and for the MOD School of Languages in Beaconsfield. The latter was particularly interesting as I co-taught 3 courses, focussing on grammar, to MOD Attaches who were going to be stationed in Italy for a period of time, in preparation for their internal language exams. I was then employed by Wycombe Abbey School in 2010, where I still teach Italian as a Private and a Curriculum teacher. I teach from Beginners to GCSE (AQA) and A Level (Edexcel). I also have experience in preparing students for Oxbridge entrance.

Biography

I am a native Italian speaker with British citizenship. I moved to this country in the early 90's, whilst I was still studying at University in Italy. I live in High Wycombe with my 17 year old son. After graduating cum laude in Modern Languages at the University G. D'Annunzio of Chieti and Pescara, Italy, in 1994, I attended a course in Linguistics at UCL, where I obtained a Master in 1995. I started teaching Italian for COASIT (Comitato Assistenza Scuole Italiane) in several after school clubs, preparing students from beginners to GCSE, to A Level until the early 2000s. I temporarily left teaching to experience working in the travel industry as a Customer Relations Manager for National Express and then in the corporate world for Heinz as an Admin Manager in Sales. Having accepted redundancy from Heinz after my maternity leave, I returned to my passion, which is teaching, in 2009.

Approach to Tutoring

I do my best to tailor lesson content and teaching style to suit individual requirements, objectives and learning styles. These would all be discussed together with the pupil during first meeting.

When not tutoring

I currently teach at Wycombe Abbey School, giving private tuitions from Beginners to GCSE and A Level sitters, and as a Part Time Curriculum Teacher for the 6th Form Italian GCSE accelerated course. When I am not teaching, I look after my son, study Swedish, read, go on long walks.
