Biography

A professional linguist and a sociolinguist with a career spanning across Russia, Denmark, Hong Kong and the UK. A British university lecturer and a teacher of Russian at the oldest public school in England. Previously a driven institutional sales executive in Investment Banking in London and a TV host for a program targeted at young people on St. Petersburg’s TV Chanel 5.

Approach to Tutoring

I use an interactive, student-centred approach that makes learning engaging and effective. My lessons incorporate real-world examples and multimedia resources to cater to different learning styles. Through guided discussions, problem-solving exercises, and personalised feedback, I ensure students actively participate and build confidence. I also integrate gamification and creative challenges to make learning fun and memorable. I aim to foster curiosity, critical thinking, and a deep understanding of the subject, so students stay motivated and achieve their full potential.

When not tutoring

I am a doctoral candidate in Sociolinguistics at the Canterbury Christ Church University, UK, and a part-time teacher of Russian at King's School Canterbury.

I enjoy the history of art, interiors, arthouse cinema, theatre and guiding in the city of Canterbury.
