I began tutoring in 2010 and went full-time in 2012. Long experience as a tutor and trainer of other tutors has made me highly adaptable. I diagnose each student’s needs and respond with empathy, further tailoring my approach by listening to individual learner preferences and considering different contexts. While I am based in London, my online students attend schools across the globe, from the Brearley School in New York to UWC Dover and UWC East in Singapore.
I have served as Keystone’s Head of English since 2017. I have guided a great many IGCSE, A Level and IB students to achieve their best possible performances in the subject. Over the years, I have also prepared many students for 11+, 13+ and 16+ school entrance assessments. For pre-tests, I build a thorough knowledge of the syllabus and focus on comprehension, grammar and ‘cloze’ procedure. I coach students to adapt to the time-pressured nature of the tests and develop problem-solving skills. My students have won places at a wide range of top independent schools: Eton, Godolphin and Latymer, Harrow, King's College School Wimbledon, Sevenoaks, St Paul's, St Paul's Girls', Tonbridge, Westminster, Winchester, Wycombe Abbey and many more.
I also tutor History and Politics. I began my career as a classroom teacher in these subjects at leading independent schools, including Wellington College and previously James Allen’s Girls’ School, my alma mater. There I further honed the independent time management and communication skills that I was fortunate enough to develop through the tutorial system at Oxford, where I took a joint honours degree in the two subjects.
