Magnus

I was brought up rural Surrey and educated at the Dragon School, Oxford and Radley College. At school I was a keen sportsman, particularly enjoying cricket, tennis and squash. From the age of 12, my family lived abroad in several countries, and I have travelled widely, spending lengthy periods in the United States, Nepal, Sri Lanka, Kenya and Jordan. Initially drawn to English Literature, it was encountering other peoples and cultures which inspired my interest in studying religion. I have a first-class BA in Religious Studies from KCL, an MA in Mysticism and Religious Experience from Kent, a PhD in Religion and Theology from Birmingham, and a PCSE in Religious Studies from the University of Roehampton. As a writer, I have had several articles published in journals and online, as well as for an A-level Religious Studies magazine.

As a teacher, I always seek to create a friendly, supportive and stimulating learning environment. My approach to teaching is student-centred, adapting to the personality and learning needs of each student. I hope to inspire my students with an interest in this subject, as well as helping them to achieve success in any exams that they may be taking. As well as stretching the most able students, I have a qualification in teaching study skills and extensive experience teaching students with SEN. My wider interests in culture and contemporary issues also help to inform my teaching.

My hobbies include writing, reading, walking in nature, travel, cinema and exercising at the gym. I am also interested in culture and current affairs.
