A dedicated Mathematics and English educator with a strong academic foundation and extensive teaching experience, I am passionate about fostering a love for learning and helping students achieve their full potential. With a BSc (Hons) in Mathematics and a PGCE in progress, I bring both subject expertise and pedagogical knowledge to my teaching practice. My academic achievements include top grades in GCSEs and A-Levels, reflecting a deep understanding of mathematics and related disciplines.

Over several years, I have honed my teaching skills in both English and Mathematics through diverse roles, tutoring students from primary to undergraduate levels in Mathematics, English, and Science. I have guided learners through critical stages of their education, including preparing for the 11+, GCSEs, and competitive entry to prestigious schools such as Bancroft, Rugby, Merchant Taylors and Eton. My ability to adapt to varied needs has enabled me to support students of all ages, from young learners building foundational skills to adults pursuing advanced academic and professional goals.

My tutoring experience spans private settings and online platforms, where I have consistently received excellent feedback for my engaging and effective teaching style. I have developed innovative methods for teaching complex concepts, ensuring lessons are accessible, interactive, and tailored to individual learning preferences. This I have found has helped parents a great deal especially when it comes to having a tutor who teaches both Mathemcatics and English as a parent only needs one tutor who will understand their childs specific way of learning.

My teaching approach as an English online teacher for ages 11-16 is similar in some ways. I try to focus on creating a supportive and interactive learning environment. I prioritize understanding each student’s unique needs, interests, and abilities, tailoring lessons to make content engaging and relatable. I use a blend of multimedia tools, creative assignments, and discussion-based activities to develop critical thinking and communication skills. By incorporating real-world connections and fostering a love for literature and language, I aim to inspire curiosity and creativity. I emphasize clear, constructive feedback and encourage open dialogue, helping students build confidence, improve their skills, and achieve their full potential.

My teaching approach as an 11+ verbal and non-verbal reasoning tutor centers on building a strong foundation of problem-solving skills while fostering confidence and resilience. I tailor lessons to each student’s strengths and areas for improvement, ensuring concepts are clearly explained and practiced through engaging exercises. I focus on breaking down complex problems into manageable steps, using real-world examples to make learning relatable. By incorporating timed practice and test-taking strategies, I help students manage pressure effectively. I encourage questions, celebrate progress, and provide constructive feedback, creating a supportive environment where students feel empowered to tackle challenges and achieve success.

I do not play Rugby any longer but I still like to watch it. I love to read and learn new languages, I currently speak three but look to extend this through travel.
