Experience

My professional journey has primarily revolved around engaging in academic research at prestigious institutions in both the UK and the USA. Concurrently, I have developed my extensive tutoring expertise alongside my academic studies and research career. My journey into mentoring commenced during my A-Levels while attending secondary school. Over the course of the past 12 years, I have accumulated substantial experience in tutoring GCSE, A-Level, and IB students, dedicating well over 1000 hours to online tutoring through platforms such as Lessonspace, Skype, and Zoom.

During my tutoring sessions, I employ a diverse range of tools, including digital textbooks, the interactive Bitpaper whiteboard, and targeted past paper questions. This comprehensive approach aims to enhance the learning experience and foster a deeper understanding of the subjects at hand. Notably, many of my students have successfully attained their desired grades, subsequently gaining admission to universities. The feedback I have received consistently attests to the exceptional effectiveness and efficiency of my teaching style.

Biography

I am a Pharmacology MSci graduate from University College London, achieving an exemplary overall first-class honors degree, coupled with multiple awards recognizing my outstanding academic accomplishments. In addition, I attained A grades in A-Level Biology and Chemistry, showcasing my comprehensive understanding of these subjects. My academic journey has been underpinned by a strong passion for scientific research, particularly within the biological sciences.

Following my graduation, I undertook the role of a Research Assistant at University College London, delving into drug discovery research on new treatments for Alzheimer's disease. Subsequently, I transitioned to Yale University, where I served as a Postgraduate Associate. Here, my focus centered on studying the brain's waste clearance system, the glymphatic system, exploring its potential applications in the treatment of various neurodegenerative diseases including Alzheimer's disease. Most recently, at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory, I held a Research Assistant position, contributing to research on 'mobile genes' known as transposable elements, unraveling their significance in embryogenesis and cancer.

Approach to Tutoring

I bring a warm, patient, and enthusiastic approach to my teaching philosophy. Recognizing that every student has a unique learning style, I pride myself on my ability to tailor my teaching methods to accommodate individual needs. My ability to articulate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner has garnered positive feedback from both my university peers and the numerous students I have guided through tutoring sessions in the past.

Moreover, I advocate for the use of past examination papers as an invaluable tool in exam preparation. I find that they not only aid in honing test-taking skills but also serve as a powerful means to solidify a student's comprehension of challenging topics.

When not tutoring

I am currently working full-time as a self-employed tutor. Beyond my tutoring commitments, I enjoy traveling, cooking and baking.
