How our Classical Civilisation Tutoring Works
Keystone Tutors represents a large team of passionate and experienced Classical Civilisation tutors who have experience of teaching Classics across the age spectrum from 11 years old up to undergraduate level. We can provide Classical Civilisation tuition tailored to specific exams, from GCSE Classical Civilisation to A Level and Classics Admissions Test (CAT) for Oxford University. Many of the Classics tutors we match with students are current or former teachers and have studied Classics at top universities, including Oxford and Cambridge.
All tutoring is tailored to the individual needs of each child based on their strengths, areas of development, learning style and their subject exam board.
We can help to improve exam performance by making use of past Classics papers, reinforcing core learning, developing revision techniques, and helping students to push the boundaries of their knowledge of Classics through super curricular learning. We have a monthly reporting system which is used to update parents on an ongoing basis. The monthly report details:
- the focus of that month’s tutoring
- the form of assessment used
- the student's achievements and areas for further work
- the focus for the coming month
The regular, rigorous reporting of the tutors we represent is frequently commended by parents.
The Classics tutors we represent are able to deliver in-person tuition within central London. For those outside of central London we offer online tutoring.
The Classics tutors we represent are well versed in delivering online tuition, using videoconferencing and an interactive whiteboard. A Guide to Ancient History and Classical Archaeology Admissions Test (AHCAAT)
What is the AHCAAT? The AHCAAT (Ancient History and Classical Archaeology Admissions Test) is a new online test - introduced in 2024 - for all candidates applying for Classical Archaeology and Ancient History at Oxford University. For the first two years of its running, the test should be considered as a pilot. It will be used only to supply ‘extra information’ on a candidate's application.
