I grew up in Wandsworth and attended Thomas’s Clapham before moving to Suffolk at the age of 10. I enjoyed an all round education at Oundle School, with lots of team sports, drama, music and art, and learned the importance of challenging and believing in myself, values that I bring to my tutoring. For my A levels I studied History, English and Spanish and went on to study Spanish (with some Italian) at Exeter University where I gained a 2:1. As part of my degree, I spent a year abroad living and working in Madrid at a Spanish school teaching English. This not only helped my Spanish language immensely, it also ignited my love of teaching. I started my teaching career straight after finishing Exeter as a Teaching Assistant to a Year 3 class at Garden House School. After two years, I decided to pursue my career in teaching so embarked upon my PGCE primary teacher training with Wandsworth SCITT and have been working as a primary school teacher ever since.

From personal experience, I know that an inspirational educator can instil a love of learning and intellectual curiosity that will last a lifetime. My commitment to building confidence, resilience and self-esteem in the children with whom I work is central to all I do. I believe this is fundamental to a child’s wellbeing, future happiness and academic success. As a Keystone Tutor, I strive to create a supportive, fun and inspiring learning environment with clear and well-defined expectations and challenging yet achievable targets, where pupils can grow in confidence and where barriers to their learning are removed. I always look forward to understanding the unique learning styles of each student and adapting my teaching style to ensure I am able to boost their confidence and self belief as well as inspire and support them in achieving their academic potential. I have an open personality, with a warm, sensitive and caring nature. A true passion for teaching, exceptional motivation, patience and the ability to form a strong rapport with children, colleagues and parents enables me to make a positive and inspiring contribution to my students.

I love as much time as possible in nature being physically active whether it’s running, walking my dog Tiggy, doing yoga, attempting to garden, paddle-boarding or cold water swimming. Despite a lack of any musical talent, my husband and I are huge music fans and love going to live events as well as discovering new artists. When I’m not tutoring, I will also be completing my yoga teacher training and teaching small group sessions amongst my friends. I would love to explore further training in a holistic approach to child wellbeing such as through nutrition and mindfulness. I am Mental Health First Aid trained and am a great believer in a balanced and positive approach to physical and mental wellbeing for children.
